After meeting with my mentor I have decided to downscale my project due to the demands of my other studies and my own well-being along with the current restructuring of the tutor system. I am still focusing on reducing plastic waste within school and raising awareness. My project goals are:
- Create a few resources to be used in form over an academic year which will work towards raising awareness of the issue.
- Plan a poster campaign with hard hitting facts to use the 'nudge principle' in order to raise awareness of the scale of the problem.
- Contact the schools 'Eco club' and get their support on improving the reduction of plastic in school and the awareness around the effect of plastics so that they can continue the work after I leave in May.
This downscale has removed the week of activities as this is something I cannot carry out because of the time restrictions and the timetabled form activities this year. I hope that instead my resources created will raise awareness and by working with the eco club I can manage to make the impact of my project long lasting.
